Some of his favorite poets include Langston Hughes, Nikki Giovanni, Maya Angelou, Tupac Shakur and Talaam Acey.  He performs throughout the local area as well as other states such as Maryland and New Jersey , and the Washington D.C. area. Proctor says of his poetry,  “It’s a combination of life the way others see it and a strong sense of spirituality taught in poetic form. Poetry is a expression of your inner self and it is important to make an impact for years to come in this world we live in.”

Proctor will be sharing his art at the Bell Family Shelter 25th anniversary celebration and fundraiser, Jazz & Jeans, on Friday, November 18, 2011, at The Yorktowne Hotel.
