JOBS SUPPORTING INDIVIDUALS LIVING WITH MENTAL ILLNESS

Assisted Living Counselor – Community Hospitalization Integration Project Program (CHIPP)

Bring your experience and energy to Bell prepared to make a difference.  The Assisted Living Counselor provides direct care services in a residential program working with clients who have a chronic mental illness and may also have additional physical and/or medical needs.  Monitor medications, respond to any client emergencies, provide supportive counseling, assist clients with activities of daily living and hygiene to the degree of the client’s needs, complete required documentation, transport clients as necessary, and ensure client safety.  This is a full-time hourly position. Minimum requirements: one year of college credits in social science or one year human service experience. Must be at least 21 years old, possess valid driver’s license, insurable driving record, and have reliable transportation. PA State Police background check.

Caseworker – Community Residential Apartment Services (CRAS)

Step up to the challenges and rewards of working as a caseworker with Bell’s CRAS team. The Caseworker is responsible for the supervision of approximately ten (10) mental health clients living in supervised apartments and group homes, with  90% of work time  spent in direct client interactions, e.g. assisting in developing the client’s daily living skills, aiding in all phases of community adjustment, providing supportive counseling, completing goal plans and assessments, and more.  The work schedule rotates on-call weekends and holidays, which may occasionally involve emergency assistance to clients.  Caseworker will ensure maintenance and management of apartments in compliance with DPW guidelines and dutifully maintain client records.  This is a full-time salaried position.  Minimum requirements: associate’s degree in social science or college credits in social science or two years human service experience.  Must be at least 21 years old, possess valid driver’s license, insurable driving record, and have reliable transportation. Current physical and Mantoux (TB) test required.  PA State Police background check.

Clubhouse Generalist

The primary responsibility of the Clubhouse Generalist is to assist and participate in the functioning of the Oasis House Clubhouse, to include overseeing the assigned unit. Other responsibilities include unit-related responsibilities, such as assuring that the work for the day is completed, support service responsibilities such as providing support, training, and encouragement to members within the Clubhouse, and documentation responsibilities required by program procedures. This is full-time salaried position.  Minimum requirements:  bachelor’s degree in a social science or HS diploma/GED and a minimum of two (2) years experience in human services which must include one year of direct mental health experience.  Applicant must have completed or will attend 12-hour psychiatric rehabilitation orientation training within one year of hire and have already completed or will attend three-week training at an International Center of Clubhouse Development (ICCD) certified training base within two years of employment, at the program coordinator’s direction.  Must be at least 21 years old, possess valid driver’s license, insurable driving record, and have reliable transportation. PA State Police background check. 

Resident Counselor – Community Residential Apartment Services (CRAS)

Come be part of the challenging and rewarding work of a CRAS Resident Counselor. By providing direct care service to consumers in a CRAS group home, you will help with skills training, implement medication monitoring system, respond to client emergencies, assist clients in progress towards goals developed on their individual plans, and complete documentation. This position is responsible for overall maintenance, management, and cleanliness of the facility during the shift and will remain in the residence whenever a client is present. For part-time, evenings and weekend hours available and full-time hourly positions schedule consists of working rotating shifts of three nights/days on, six nights/days off. Minimum requirements:  one year of college credits in social science, or one year human service experience.  Must be at least 18 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license, insurable driving record, and have reliable transportation. Current physical and Mantoux (TB) test required.  PA State Police background check. 

JOBS SUPPORTING INDIVIDUALS WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES

Day Program Service Worker (Bell at the Village)

 Enjoy your daily work while you make a direct and positive difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities. The ideal employee in this hands-on position will ensure the safety of clients while teaching skills, monitoring medications, assisting with transportation, and helping clients live as independently as possible. This is a full-time hourly position. Minimum qualifications: HS/GED, valid driver’s license, insurable driving record, reliable transportation, current physical and Mantoux (TB) test, Act 33 and PA State Police background checks.

Individual Service Workers/ Independent Care Provider – Support and Empower Living Fundamentals (SELF) Program

Help individuals live as independently as possible in the community when you take on a position in the SELF program. Explore opportunities in hands-on education to assist client-directed learning in regard to personal care, household equipment, money management, using various forms of transportation, and other training.  This is a part-time position in the Hanover /Adams and York area.  Work hours are flexible and may include evening and weekend hours based on client needs.  Minimum requirements:  HS diploma/GED.  Must be at least 18 years old, possess valid driver’s license, insurable driving record, and have reliable transportation.  Current physical and Mantoux (TB) test required.  PA State Police background check, Act 33 and/or FBI clearances.

Residential Service Workers  

Share your compassionate nature and home management skills by providing “hands-on’ services and support to enable individuals with Intellectual Disabilities to live as independently as possible in a shared residential setting. RSWs are responsible for carrying out all day-to-day duties necessary for the residential programs to operate smoothly. Full- and part-time positions available throughout York County; second and third shifts.  Must be at least 18 years old, Requires HS/GED; valid driver’s license for 2 years, insurable driving record and reliable transportation; current physical and Mantoux (TB) test; and Act 33 and PA State Police background check.

JOBS SUPPORTING HOMELESS FAMILIES

Cleaning Person

Are you the type of person who likes things to be tidy and clean? Bring your experience and enthusiasm to this job helping to create a fresh and welcoming environment for homeless families at our emergency shelter. Must perform all routine daily cleaning tasks and deep cleaning on all floors of the Shelter and report all necessary maintenance issues. This is a part-time hourly position. Minimum requirements: must be able to lift minimum of 25 pounds.  PA State Police background check, Act 33 and/or FBI clearances.
