2011 Mental Health Awareness Month Art Show

For the second year, our annual mental health awareness month art show will be held at the York GalleriaLast year’s art show at the mall offered a great public venue to share the creative expressions of residents of York and Adams counties who are living with mental illness.

The main exhibit  – which is open Friday May 20 and Saturday May 21 from 10AM to 9PM – will be in a store front on the second floor next to the mall office. Select pieces will also be displayed in The Bon-Ton by the second floor escalators. We are grateful to these two community partners and our co-presenter NAMI-York County for helping to showcase the art.

Additional thanks goes to the York County Federation of Democratic Women and NAMI for creating doors in support of eliminating the stigma of living with mental illness.  Both doors will be part of the show displays.

The awards ceremony is scheduled for 12:30 on Friday, May 20. This year’s judges are Kevin Lenkner, Executive Director at York Arts, and local artists Natasha Bucalo and Patty Smith.
