SELF Program

Bell’s Support Empower Living Fundamentals (SELF) program is a direct, one-on-one service offered in a home or other community setting to gain the most of real-world application. Designed to assist individuals living with intellectual disability in acquiring, retaining, and improving self-help skills, each service user has a unique plan to help them develop skills to function as independently as possible in  the community.

People served through Bell’s SELF program currently live either on their own or with their family.  Staff provides  service to meet the individual needs of each person. Goals may include learning basic hygiene, developing and improving writing skills, creating grocery lists, planning nutritious meals, and outings to discovery their community.

Medical, Community Connections, Financial Development, Maintaining a Household, Emotional Supports, Transportation, Health & Safety, Self Advocacy

Other program areas can be discussed and tailored to meet individual needs.

  • Do you have a diagnosis of an intellectual disability?
  • Are you a York or Adams county, PA resident?
  • Do you have a desire to  receive services?
  • Are you 18 years of age or older?

HOW MUCH DO I PAY?

Funding is provided by York / Adams County MH/IDD. (No cost to family.)  Private pay (trusts, etc.) also available.

Admissions, the provision of services and referrals of participants are made without regard to race, creed, disability, union membership, high school equivalency, ancestry, national origin (LEP), age, sex or sexual orientation.
