Rita Patz Good Neighbor Award

Recipients: Conor and Rae McKee

The generosity of Conor and Rae McKee shines year-round as members of Bell’s Monthly Giving Club. Their Adopt-a-Day at Bell Family Shelter in July commemorates the anniversary of when they moved to York a few years ago —a heartfelt nod to the community they’ve grown to  love.

The positive impact of their engagement as good neighbors also includes donating extra during Give Local York in May, leading a full refresh of the guest lobby at our Next Door Program this summer (with Rae’s expertise as an interior designer), and being the first to sign up to host a birthday party at Bell Family Shelter this fall.

Pauline Whitacre Community Services Award

Recipient: Sherri Skelton

Sherri Skelton, Corporate Secretary/Treasurer at RL Livingston, Inc., goes above and beyond in supporting Bell. From fundraising and donating household goods to representing Bell at community events, Sherri’s dedication enhances the lives of people in our mental health service programs.

“It really means a lot to her, and to me, because she does these things out of the kindness of her heart. She truly believes in what we do at Bell.” – Cheyanne Lambert, CHIPP Supported Living Program Coordinator, and daughter of Sherri Skelton.

Business of the Year Award

Recipient: RL Livingston, Inc.

RL Livingston, Inc. has been a steadfast supporter of Bell’s mission. Their generous financial contributions help fund Bell’s CHIPP Supported Living annual trip to the shore. For many participants, this is the only opportunity they have to get away to clear their mind, relax, experience new things, and enjoy the healing power of the ocean.

Margo Atwood Community Services Award

Recipient: Britta Schwab

Britta’s leadership and compassion eminate through her initiation and development of the Handle with Care Project — a training program helping York City and Hanover Borough police officers better understand and respond to individuals experiencing mental health challenges.

A former Bell volunteer and employee, and a current donor, Britta continues to make a meaningful impact, coordinating trainings and writing grants to support the Handle with Care Project. Britta truly embodies the spirit of compassion and collaboration that defines Bell.

“Receiving this award is an honor, but the greatest privilege is making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families in my community.” – Britta Schwab

Ivan G. Hileman Award

Recipient: Rick Miller

Rick Miller, Lead Drop-In Aide at Bell’s Liberty Bell Drop-In Center, has dedicated 27 years to creating a welcoming space where individuals feel valued, accepted, and safe. His advocacy, connection, and care empower people on their mental health journeys every day.

“I love my job. It creates an environment that helps me with my mental health and gives me a sense of purpose to get up every morning.” – Rick Miller

Personal Achievement Award

Recipient: Christine Myers

Christine Myers, a participant in Bell’s Launch Program, has achieved remarkable milestone accomplishments in the past year, including moving into her own apartment and purchasing her own car.

While initially resistant to accepting help, Christine learned that with support from Bell program staff, including Launch Program Specialist, TiAnna Rodriquez, and WellSpan’s ACT program, she could make progress. Christine demonstrates resilience, independence, and the power of recovery.

Personal Achievement Award

Recipient: Jonathan Naugle

As a participant in Bell’s Always Include Me (AIM) Program, Jonathan Naugle has shown incredible growth in confidence and independence this year. Through small, supportive steps, Jonathan steadily gained  a capacity to embrace joining in with community outings, building self-assurance and joy in experiences that were once overwhelming.

As Jonathan was unable to attend the event, his mother, Sylvia Naugle, accepted his award alongside Victor Holler, former Program Coordinator of AIM.
