Bell Family Shelter Marks One Year in Expanded Space — And We’re Just Getting Started!
Celebrating one year in our expanded space at Bell Family Shelter! In the past year, we’ve welcomed 449 adults and children, providing them with safe shelter and support when they needed it most.
It’s been a year since we opened the doors to our new and improved Bell Family Shelter at 724 S. George Street. With the expanded space, we’ve been able to double our capacity, providing up to 73 people a safe place to stay each night. Over the past year, we have welcomed 449 adults and children, offering not only shelter but also a path toward independent living.
While we celebrate the progress, the journey isn’t over. We are still $37,000 away from our Giving Shelter Campaign goal, which funds the 24/7 care, resources, and support that families in crisis rely on. Your generosity makes all the difference.
Our Shelter staff have seen firsthand the impact of the new space. They describe the atmosphere in powerful words: “Relief. Joy. Thankful. Positive.”
One staff member shared, “They want to come here. They feel seen as a person and cared for. Some even ask if they can stay.”
