Leading with Heart: Celebrating Karen Roland’s Outstanding Performance Award

At Bell, our staff are the heart of everything we do. They empower individuals and families to live the life they choose—and Karen Roland, Program Coordinator of New Beginnings, is a shining example of that commitment.

Nominated by Assistant Program Coordinator Jere Woodyard, Karen was recently honored with an Outstanding Performance Award. And it’s easy to see why. Jere shared: “When I think of Bell, there are many people who stand out from the crowd. Karen checks all the boxes—and more. I consider myself blessed to learn from her every day.”

Karen exemplifies what it means to be both a leader and a friend. Whether she’s organizing activities, running the program store, or passionately sharing Native American culture through her educational presentations, her dedication shines through. She’s also the driving force behind one of the most anticipated events of the year—Camp Hebron—which our consumers eagerly await.

Always ready with a listening ear or a story to share, Karen goes above and beyond, not just during work hours but with her own time as well. As Jere beautifully put it: “She makes all of us feel like family.”

Thank you, Karen, for your compassion, leadership, and the many ways you make a difference.
