Putting the Pieces Back Together – Deb’s Story

In 2018, Deb was experiencing a lot of depression. She said, “My family was trying to support me and get me into Bell to help with my depression.” Three years later, Deb happily remarks that the right medication, support of her family, and her participation in the mental health programs of Bell Socialization Services have helped her to “put the pieces back together.”
She commented, “Coming to Bell’s Social Rehabilitation Program gives me even more support. The teachers and all of my friends are here. They are like family to me. The groups are interesting,” Deb continued, “My family is happy too! When I talk to my Mom on the phone every night, she sees a lot of change. I am laughing and talking, and I didn’t do that before.”
Deb remarked, “I have my own place, and I love it. I feel so much better. I can get up and do what I need to do. I do not feel sluggish. I’m not snapping at anybody, and I know that if I get depressed, I can talk to somebody.”
Bell’s mental health services programs provide people with the support they need for socialization, housing and basic living skills, and employment.
YOU can support those programs with a gift to Bell’s extended Giving Tuesday campaign at https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/BellsMentalHealthCampaign.
