Celebrating Good People in Our Community

As part of Bell Socialization Services’ 60th Anniversary – and in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month – Bell MH staff initiated a Good People Challenge.
Employees thoughtfully filled “Good People Bags” with goodies and have been hand-delivering them to individuals and businesses who make a positive impact and can be identified as “good people.” Each recipient is then encouraged to pay it forward by recognizing three more “good people,” creating a ripple effect.
Melanie Still, Supervisor of Social Emotional Learning at The York City School District, shared: “On behalf of our district, we extend our sincere appreciation for being part of the Good People initiative. It was a meaningful experience to give back and spread joy within our community.” She continued the challenge by gifting bags to Sunrise Soap Co, Revolt Style Studio, and The House of Flowers and Exotic Plants.
Minnich’s Pharmacy also joined the effort, posting: “We’re grateful to be part of such a special initiative and look forward to recognizing more incredible people in our community.”
Ed Knee, Director of Shelter Services at LifePath Christian Ministries , shared his appreciation for being part of the challenge: “It was my pleasure to pass three additional bags out to those making a difference in our community. Thank you so much for the opportunity to participate!” Ed recognized Erika Gonzalez, Interim Executive Director of Hanover Area Council of Churches; Jennifer Weitkamp, Manager of Ambulatory Care at WellSpan, and Carmela Disomma of the York/Lancaster Harm Reduction Project.
Thank you to all the Good People who make our world better and brighter!
