Tonya leads with her heart in every interaction, ensuring that every parent and child who walks through the shelter’s doors feels safe, seen, and supported. Whether she’s preparing a home-cooked meal or offering a comforting hug, she brings warmth and compassion to every moment.
When we celebrated the grand opening of Ruby’s Reading Nook, Tonya came in on her day off to prepare food for the event. She also volunteered to cook dinner for the families staying at the shelter when extra help was needed. Her selflessness and dedication shine bright.
A beautiful moment during that day said it all: three children staying at the shelter ran up to Tonya, excited to see her. She greeted each one with a smile, a hug, and sincere questions about their school day. These everyday interactions, filled with love and attention, are what make Tonya’s presence so impactful.
