Meet Aram: Bringing Experience and Innovation to Next Door’s Team

Bell would like to introduce Aram, the Assistant Program Coordinator at Next Door.

Aram shared, “I cooked for a long time and wanted to do something different. Next Door is a great opportunity. I have personal experience with being homeless and going through different things. I feel like I can relate to the people coming in and out. The work is close to me and a chance to learn, grow, and hone my skills. It will be nice to give people the correct resources I wish I had.”

With a bachelor’s degree in game design, Aram uses the skills he has learned from gaming and applies them to his work at Next Door. He explained, “I look at things from many different perspectives because everyone’s situation is different. The logical and critical thinking skills I use with video games help me in various situations.”

“One of my first experiences at Next Door was helping my neighbor. I didn’t even know they were my neighbor at the time. That was a good day! When clients leave a little bit brighter than when they came in, that’s the best,” Aram added. “I try to take something from everything. My goals are to contribute as much as possible, continue to grow, and stay motivated.”

Elise, the Program Coordinator of Next Door, enthusiastically said, “Aram has been a great addition to the team. He has provided more organization by creating spreadsheets for staff. Aram brings lived experience and a calming nature, which is important in his interactions with people experiencing a crisis. This program coordinator is proud and thankful for Next Door’s assistant.”

Aram, we are excited about everything you will accomplish at Next Door. With your motivation, dedication, and experience, you will do great work and amazing things!
