“My favorite thing is that we support people IN the community—they are not isolated”

Enjoying the independence of living in one’s own apartment while receiving needed supports to thrive and achieve life goals is what makes Bell’s CHIPP Supported Living* program successful for many mental health service users. Dedicated on-site staff (like those pictured here) is available as needed to help with transportation, medication management, and daily living skills.
Apartment Counselor, Erik Swalgin, shared, “My favorite thing about CHIPP is that we support people IN the community—they are not isolated. It is a normal life.”
From everyday support to cherished moments, like the annual beach trip, CHIPP Supported Living is a testament to independence, connection, and opportunity.
“What sets CHIPP apart is our strong partnerships,” says Cheyanne Skelton, Program Coordinator, “We work closely with York/Adams MH-IDD caseworkers and organizations like WellSpan to build a support system that meets our clients’ needs. It is about teamwork, being connected, and empowerment.”
This commitment and compassion create a positive impact in people’s lives every day.
