CHIPP Assisted Living: More Than Just a House, It’s a Home

CHIPP Assisted Living at one of their monthly gatherings.
CHIPP Assisted Living, part of Bell’s Mental Health Services, is more than just a place to stay—it’s a home.
The program includes two community houses where three clients in each home receive 24/7 support from compassionate assisted living counselors. From the moment you step inside, you can feel it: family isn’t just a word here, it’s a lived experience.
Katheryn Forrey, an Assisted Living Caseworker who has been with Bell for 27 years, captures that spirit perfectly: “When I am out with a client, I often say, ‘Okay, let’s go back home.’ I feel like this place is my home too. I always ask myself if I would want to live here. It is important to me to treat others the way I want to be treated.”
Her favorite memories include taking a client to a KISS concert and bonding with another over their shared love of monster trucks and sprint cars. With a smile, she encourages others: “Work for Bell where you will feel fulfilled.”
That same sense of fulfillment shines through her supervisor, Jennifer Cunningham, Assistant Program Coordinator: “You do feel fulfilled. It gives me a sense of purpose. It is more than just a job.”
From peaceful patios to cozy rooms where friends gather, CHIPP homes offer calm, welcoming spaces where choices matter—what to eat, where to go, and how to spend the day.
Program Coordinator Jessica Putnam agrees that connection is at the heart of it all: “My Bell family. We are a family here. I love the one-on-one time with clients and when both houses come together for activities.”
Everyday life at CHIPP is full of meaningful moments—shopping trips, outings, shared meals, and celebrations both big and small.
CHIPP is more than assisted living—it’s a place where people are empowered to make choices, build connections, and create lasting memories in a supportive home environment.
