Honoring Work, Honoring Workers

Through Oasis House Clubhouse’s Transitional Employment Program, Diane is enjoying her role at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of York.
Labor Day is a time to recognize the value of work and the contributions of workers throughout history. It’s also a reminder of how meaningful employment can be—bringing purpose, structure, skill development, and financial stability to our lives.
This year, we celebrate with a special spotlight on Diane, a member of Oasis House York who is thriving in her new role through their Transitional Employment Program. Diane is working as a Nutrition Service Aide in the dietary department at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of York, one of our newest job partners. She delivers meals to patients, helps set up trays in the kitchen, and even steps in to cover extra shifts on her own time—embracing every part of the role with dedication and joy.
We are so proud of Diane’s hard work and perseverance, and we are deeply grateful to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital for opening doors to meaningful employment opportunities. Diane’s achievements show the possibilities transitional employment creates and the doors it can open.
On this Labor Day, we celebrate all workers—past, present, and future—and the pride and hope that meaningful work inspires.
