I’ve Learned So Much – Juan’s story
Juan, a service user in Bell’s Sendero Program, part of our Mental Health Services, created a sign that reads, “Una Nueva Vida” (a new life). In describing his artistic process, he said, “I made this craft thinking about how much I have learned in the years that I have been in the Sendero program.”
“I did not have the opportunity to go to school as a child,” Juan continued, “In this program, I have learned how to write my name and to identify numbers. Here, they have taught me about hygiene, how to manage my money and how to go shopping. I have learned so much.”
In closing, as he thought about his past and where he is now, Juan expressed, “I am grateful for “A New Life” that I have achieved with the help of the Sendero Program.”
YOUR gift to Bell’s Giving Tuesday campaign (which runs from today through this Friday) will help Juan and other people using Bell’s mental health services programs to discover their “new life;” a life they choose and build for themselves with the tools they receive through Bell programs.
