Bell Welcomes New Philanthropy Officer

When Peggy Davidson received her first call from Bell, she wasn’t looking for a job. However, as she learned more about the position of Philanthropy Officer, she found that she couldn’t say no.

Peggy has been working in fund development for over 20 years and has served on the boards of various arts-related organizations. She has also been volunteer fundraising for Garden Club of York’s hanging basket display for about the past seven years. Needless to say, her experience in financial management and volunteer work have prepared her well for her new position here at Bell.

“Bell has a wonderful opportunity to open bigger, better, and brighter emergency shelters for homeless families,” Peggy said when asked what she’s most looking forward to at Bell. “I’m looking for creative and fun ways to get the support of our generous York community. It will be a privilege to have a role in raising funds for awesome new projects.”

When she’s not busy at Bell, Peggy endeavors to be outside as much as possible, enjoying hobbies like bocce, auctions, and estate sales. She’s always looking for new places to take hikes and day trips, and when she’s not out and about, she enjoys tending her home gardens. She’s allegedly been called the “Butterfly Whisperer” for raising monarchs and swallowtails. In her first few weeks at Bell, she has come to value the care and positivity of her co-workers. “Every co-worker I’ve met is friendly and demonstrates kindness, commitment, and true care for the people Bell serves. I learn from them every day.”
