Say Hi to Victor

Leadership and management are no strangers to Lloyd “Victor” Holler. From advertising director at Super Shoes to personal care assistant for individuals with intellectual disabilities, Victor has been around the block in terms of work experience. All of the jobs he’s had have prepared him well to do great things at Bell.

Victor himself received the Outstanding Performance Award this past spring.

Victor has been with Bell for two and a half years. When he first applied to Bell after moving to York with his wife Myra (who works in Bell’s Social Recreation program), he did not anticipate that the job would end up being the most rewarding one of his life. He enjoys how Bell recognizes employees for going above and beyond through honors like the Outstanding Performance Award. “I always say this is the best job I’ve ever had,” he shares, “and I wish I would’ve known about it before.”

Now, Victor has a chance to further his passion for helping others with his promotion to the role of Program Coordinator at Bell’s Always Include Me (AIM) program, an intellectual/developmental disability (IDD) service for adults living with IDD. As Program Coordinator, Victor is responsible for overseeing the development of 15 individuals in the AIM program. He looks forward to getting to know all of them and helping them foster independence and life skills.

Particularly, Victor hopes to promote community and social interaction in the wake of the isolation brought on by COVID. “I think it’s really cool that [AIM]’s not like a standardized school setting, but it’ll give them an opportunity for some social interaction inside the IDD community and also outside the IDD community.” Some ideas he has for AIM going forward include inviting individuals’ families to holiday socials like a Thanksgiving dinner, as well as hosting events in the community like a boat regatta and a planter garden.

When not working at Bell, Victor is a non-denominational substitute preacher who enjoys reading, watching movies, and playing “dumb games on [his] phone” (his words, not ours!). He loves trying new restaurants with Myra and treasures the professional opportunities Bell has brought him. “I feel blessed that I found Bell and that I get to do what I get to do,” he says. “I can go to work tired and leave energized because of the individuals and the interaction with them.”
